The Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB) held the International Conference on Human Trafficking, Sex Workers and their Children: Assessing Vulnerabilities and Exploring Responses in South Asia on the 20th and 21st of November, 2012 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The conference was a component of the LEADR Project which stands for Liberation and Empowerment Attaining Dignity and Rights for sex workers and their children in Bangladesh. The project is funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and is being conducted by ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB) in partnership with ULAB-CSD. Eight researches have been conducted under the project which were presented in the conference and a book composed of the research papers launched on the first day of the conference.
The goal of the conference was to provide a greater understanding of the issues and the dynamics raised by Human Trafficking and Sex Workers in South Asia with special focus on Bangladesh. Your attendance in the event will be highly appreciated.
