ULAB hosts Anwar Hossain Photo Exhibit: “Tutail 1971-2012”

A photography exhibition of renowned photographer/cinematographer Anwar Hossain entitled “Tutail 1971-2012” was opened by the Department of Media Studies and Journalism of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB, https://www.ulab.edu.bd)  on April 3, 4:00 pm, Campus A Auditorium.
The exhibition will run from April 3 to 5 at ULAB Campus A Lobby and April 6 to 10 at ULAB Campus B lobby.

The exhibit is a collection of 30 photographs depicting 1971 war.  Anwar Hossain feels a strong emotional connection with liberation war.  During the exhibit opening, Dr. Jude William R. Genilo, Head, MSJ reviewed his photo collection. Mr. Morshedul Islam, Film Director and Cine Media activist was present as special guest on the opening. AGAMI, a film by Morshedul Islam was screened and Mr. Anwar Hossain also presented a slide show entitled “ Tutail Today”.

Anwar Hossain, photographer, cinematographer and architect, was born at Dhaka in 1948. Photographing since 1967, won 60 international awards in photography & is the author of seven major photo-books on Bangladesh, Dhaka, Women and France. Anwar filmed about 15 fictions and 30 documentary films with numerous awards in cinematography. He served as the sole jury in the Commonwealth photo contest at Cyprus in 1980, film jury in France in 1999 and the principal national jury in Bangladesh 2008 – 2011. Arps, Afiap, Asiipc, Anwar has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by Nsu Dhaka. A Bangla – France citizen, Anwar has been living in Paris since 1993.
