With an aim to connect local community, a team of the Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival (DIMFF) met members of Kishor Alo -- a supplement of the daily Prothom Alo for juveniles -- at the daily’s office in Dhaka on July 27. The main objective of the session was to encourage the school- and college-going film enthusiasts to submit films under the school/college category of DIMFF 2019. The official website of DIMFF, which was launched lately, was introduced to the members of Kishor Alo. The festival director along with the executives spoke about the procedure for submission. Young filmmakers can now submit their works through the website. DIMFF is the country’s first ever mobile film festival that was formerly known as Cinemascope Mobile Film Competition. Cinemascope, a film apprenticeship program of ULAB, is organizing the festival for the fifth time. Submission of films is now open and the deadline for film submission is September 16. Films can be submitted into three different categories -- screening category, which is open for all; competition category, which is only for university students; and 1-minute film, which is introduced first time this year only for grade 1-12 students. DIMFF 2019 will take place on February 15-16, 2019. For details, the organizers asked the participants to email at [email protected] or visit the Facebook page: www.facebook.com/ULABCinemaScope.
