University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh wins Two Awards in Nutrition Olympiad 2019

ULAB Nutrition and Wellness Club took part in the Nutrition Olympiad 2019 where they went on to win two awards. The event was organized by Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development (BIID), which took place on 27.4.2018 at Bangabandhu International Convention Centre (BICC). University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) along with 24 different nutrition clubs from schools, colleges, and universities took part from all around Bangladesh.

In this year’s competition, Nutrition Olympiad was held in nine segments of which NWC ULAB participated in ‘Nutrition Messages’ video, Healthy Diet Chart, and Mini Essay segment. Out of these segments, ULAB won in two of them. Atifa Aziz Muntahar from BBA department won the Mini Essay segment while Waardah Wahid Sabah from MSJ department won the ‘Nutrition Messages’ video segment. The award was presented to the winners by Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Division, Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak.

The judges’ panel for the event consisted of CEO of BIID, Md. Shahid Uddin Akbar and Bangladeshi magician and flutist, Mr. Jewel Aich. Among the list of guests present were Agriculture Minister, Mr. Abdur Razzak and Food Minister, Mr. Sadhan Chandra Majumder who were the chief guest and special guest respectively.

Also present during the event were US Ambassador to Bangladesh, Mr. Earl Miller along with the representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of UN’s Bangladesh, Mr. Robert D Simpson. They were presented as the Guest of Honor in the event.

Advisor of ULAB Co-Curricular Office Dr. Pinki Shah, Advisor of Nutrition and Wellness Club Ms. Tazrian Shainam Shahid were present along with students and executives of the club to represent ULAB.
