USB Holds Freshers’ Orientation Program For Summer 2019 Term

University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh School of Business (ULAB) organized an orientation program for the newly enrolled BBA students of Summer 2019. The event was held on 20th June 2019 at ULAB’s Campus A Auditorium. It was inaugurated by the opening remarks of Prof. Imran Rahman, Special Advisor to ULAB’s BOT and Dean, ULAB School of Business as he conveyed his message via skype all the way from New York. Prof. Abdul Mannan, Former Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh; Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim, PhD, Head of General Education Program (GED); Prof. Wazir A F Ahmad, Assistant Professor & Director, BBA Program; along with several faculty members were also present at the event.

The program consisted of a Quiz Session and a team building exercise where the students collaborated as a group. The event also comprised of several informative sessions such as “Greening ULAB”, a presentation conducted by Dr. Rumana Sultana, Assistant Professor & Research Associate from the Center of Sustainable Development (CSD); “Campus Safety” conducted by the SAO office followed by the Introduction to the GED courses through explaining the idea of “Liberal Arts” by Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim. Lastly, there was a segment of “Life as Ulabian” where an alumnus and two of the current students of USB shared their experiences with the audience. After the informative and engaging sessions, ULAB’s Sangskriti Sangsad gave a warm performance to cut the monotony.

Prof. Abdul Mannan delivered his motivational speech in order to inspire the students to be dutiful towards their motherland and realize the significance of their mother tongue. Later on, he handed over the prize to the winning team of the Quiz Session. To conclude the event, Prof. Wazir A F Ahmad introduced the faculty members of ULAB School of Business and delivered the vote of thanks.
