Theatre ULAB hosted a workshop on “Basic Knowledge of Theatre &; Facial Expression”

Theatre ULAB arranged a workshop on “Basic Knowledge of Theatre & Facial Expression”, facilitated by the former President of Theatre ULAB, Hossain Ahmad Masum, on 4th of July 2019 at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. The event mainly focused on the fundamental understandings of theatre and how to approach a character. The club also arranged a segment to say goodbye to the former president in the presence of the club advisor Asst. Professor Mr. Muntasir Mamun. Everyone thanked the former president for his enormous contribution to the club.

The event began at 3:00 pm with Hossain Ahmad Masum explaining to the students about his journey at ULAB and how Theatre ULAB has given him the recognition and polished his inner talent. He shared his bitter-sweet experiences related to his performances and asked the spectators to learn from the mistakes. Basic theatrics consists of a wide range of physical exercises that keep the actor fit for the stage. The importance of oral exercises keeps a performer ready for the stage and how such exercises help a person to be more confident in speaking in front of a larger audience. This helped the students learn more about the importance of performing arts.

The gathering ended at 6:00 pm with the farewell ceremony of Hossain Ahmad Masum, where he was handed a bouquet of flowers by the adviser, Asst. Professor Mr. Muntasir Mamun, and the club president, Md. Rubayet Alam with a memorable present as a token of appreciation. Members of other clubs also joined, as they had their initial experiences at Theatre ULAB & reminisced their glorious days in the club.
