Department of EEE and ULAB Electronics and Robotics Club (UERC) successfully organized webinar on “Machine Learning Applications in Healthcare”

Webinar on “Machine Learning Applications in Healthcare”, jointly organized by the Department of EEE, ULAB and ULAB Electronics and Robotics Club (UERC) held on 11 April 2021 (Sunday) from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Zoom. Dr. Mohammad Enamul H. Chowdhury, Assistant Professor, Electrical Engineering Qatar University, Qatar was the resource person of this webinar. The resource person discussed the application of Machine Learning for the detection of COVID 19 and severity investigation with the help of chest X-ray images from his research works. He mentioned the effectiveness of Chest X-ray and CT scan to identify the COVID 19 affected people compared to the RT-PCR tests as RT-PCR test results sometimes can be misleading. He also discussed the possibility of Machine learning applications to find out other diseases.

Students from the Department of EEE and ETE joined the webinar. Dr. M. Mofazzal Hossain, Professor, and Head of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), along with all the faculty members of the Department of EEE joined the program.  The webinar was highly informative. This successful webinar ended with a question-answer session between the resource person and the attendees.
