Adjunct Faculty

Overview

At present I have been working as an Adjunct Faculty with University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) under the department of Media Studies and Journalism. Started the journey with ULAB as Part Time Faculty from Summer Semester of 2007 and successfully accomplished the responsibility of teaching ‘New Media and Management’ course for the Masters in Communication.

Currently in spring 2018 semester undertaken the responsibility of teaching Labour and Workplace Reporting for the Undergrad students and Communication Theories & Research Methodology for the grad level students.

Successfully completed the Fall Semester 2017. Taught Labour and Workplace Reporting for the Undergrad students and Communication Theories & Communication Campaigns for the grad level students. Attended different curriculum integration and development programs of the department. Attended as the member of the panel for the defense of the thesis of the graduate students.

As an Adjunct Faculty also contribute in different curriculum integration programs, organizing special lectures and workshops for students and activities undertaken by the office of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of ULAB
Alongside working as a Freelance Consultant in the field of training, research, media and communication. Have 18 years of experience in the field of training, research, development and communication.

Have the experience of working as the Head of Communication and Strategy, Bangla Communications Limited a highly reputed consulting agency for communication and development. Prior to that worked with a nationally and internationally reputed media based development organization Mass-line Media Centre (MMC) as Program Director.

Before that I worked for Partners in Population and Development (PPD) as Communication Coordinator. My considerably longer career was in Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) for 10 years as Senior Manager Training and as Senior Program Manager - Civic Engagement. Earlier I worked for CARE Bangladesh from March 2004 to July 2005 as Technical Officer Training under Rural Maintenance Program - RMP. I also worked in Mass-line Media Center (MMC) as Training Officer at early stage of the career for the period of October 1999 to March 2004.

Research & Awards

  • Caritas Switzerland – Conducting as a Team Leader the ‘Assessment on Sustainability of ICT Centres formed under Establishment of People’s Sustainable Platform for Poverty Reduction (EPSPPR)’. Developed methodologies and tools for data collection, lead data collection in the field and prepared the assessment report through analysis of field data.
  • As a Co-Team Leader Conducting a Formative Research for Hygiene and Sanitation Behaviour Change Design’ under the regional level South Asia WASH Results Programme (SAWRP) implemented in Bangladesh jointly by Plan International Bangladesh and WaterAid Bangladesh. The consultation is commissioned by Plan International UK.
  • Koinonia – Conducting as a Team Leader the ‘End of Cycle Evaluation for the Project: Child Centered Integrated Community Development’. Developed methodologies and tools for data collection, lead data collection in the field and prepared the evaluation report through analysis of field data.
  • United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) - Communication Expert under Impact Assessment of Upazila Governance Project and Union Parishad Governance Project as one of the team member. The assignment is undertaken by the Department of Public Administration, University of Dhaka.
  • Worked as the Co-researcher of the research titled 'Bringing Dalit women to the forefront: Realities and Challenges' undertaken by Nagorik Uddyog and supported by Christian Aid.
  • Working as the 'Research Coordinator' for a research on 'Social protection schemes relevant to children with disabilities and their families', commissioned by Save the Children Bangladesh.
  • Worked as team member in conducting a 'Mid-term Evaluation of Chetona project for Save the Children on Sex Workers and the Children of the Sex Workers. Coordinated the baseline survey in four regions of Bangladesh covering 266 selected respondents. Assisted Team Leader in preparing the data analysis and writing the research report.
  • Article 19 - Assisted in conducting research on 'Freedom of Expression' and preparing the Freedom of Expression Report of 2015.
  • Article 19 - Conducted a research titled 'Monitoring Freedom of Expression: Municipality Election 2015' as a consultant under the banner of Article 19 the UK Based human rights organization focusing freedom of expression.
  • SWAPNO project of UNDP - Coordinated the baseline survey of SWAPNO project of UNDP conducted by the consulting firm Participatory Management Initiative for Development (PMID). Assisted Team Leader in developing HHS Questionnaire, FGD Guideline for Union Parishad Capacity Assessment. Conducted field test and finalize the tools. Conducted 1200 Household Survey and 72 UP Capacity Assessment.
  • MMC - Lead the research on Impact Evaluation of the project on ‘Reducing Early and Forced Marriage through campaign in Community Radio’ of Mass-line Media Center MMC. The project supported by Canadian Fund for Local Initiative under Canadian High Commission.
