After his bachelor studies, MD Oliur Rahman Tarek worked for several years in the shipping and advertising industries. While working in the advertising industry, he worked with some of the most prestigious global brands operating in Bangladesh. In 2018, Oliur received his master degree from HEC Liège, Belgium (AACSB and EQUIS Accredited) with Distinction (Cum Laude). He also served the digital marketing team of a venture-backed SaaS start-up in Belgium as an Intern. At ULAB, Oliur investigates a wide range of issues related to Sharing Economy, Collaborative Consumption, Innovation Rejection, Digital Credit, and Entrepreneurship as part of his research duties. He is providing grant management support to re-designing of a grant awarded by a prestigious US donor. Oliur is also involved in curriculum review for Founder Institute, a Silicon Valley-based accelerator program for leading startups in Bangladesh. Recently he has received 2nd Best Paper Award at the 4th International Conference on Globalisation, Entrepreneurship and Emerging Economies (ICGEEE), organized by Centre for Business & Economic Research (CBER), UK.
