Scholars Program Workshop: “Abstract Odyssey: Navigate, Write, Conquer”

On February 8, 2024, the Department of English and Humanities at ULAB organized an exclusive workshop for the students of the Scholars Program titled “Abstract Odyssey: Navigate, Write, Conquer.” The workshop was conducted by Dr. Md. Mahadhi Hasan, Assistant Professor at DEH.

Ms. Arifa Ghani Rahman, Head of the Department of English and Humanities, provided her insights on the importance of research in the field of English literature and language. She also spoke about the possibilities for the students from the Scholars Program and how they can benefit from it.

The facilitator of the workshop, Dr. Md. Mahadhi Hasan, asked the participants to take part in a brief practice of how to write an abstract. Dr. Hasan introduced the “BAMFI” method that the students had to apply in writing the abstract section of a research paper. He also explained the importance of having a good abstract.

Mr. Al Mahmud Rumman, Senior Lecturer, DEH, and Mr. Sheikh Nahiyan, Lecturer, DEH, were present at the workshop. The session ended with a brief question and answer session with the students.
