The Department of English and Humanities at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) hosted a workshop titled ‘We can ask questions; we can listen; we can make notes; and we can think; Yes, we CAN do research!’ in its Dhanmondi campus on Thursday, March 2, 2017. Prominent scholar Professor Shaila Sultana, PhD, from the Department of English Language, IML, Dhaka University, conducted the session.

“Each and every one is the subject of a social research and at some point becomes a social researcher”: Dr. Sultana began her talk with this thought-provoking idea as she addressed a room full of eager young researchers of the department and guests from other universities.

During the course of her two-hour talk, Dr. Sultana gradually explained to the audience how to write a proper research question and discussed how this will direct the path of a research project.

Sultana, who has an impressive array of publications, also talked about different kinds of researches and appropriate methodologies for each.

Faculty members of DEH were present among others.
