ULABians Forever, Fall’19 Held

Department of the Media Studies and Journalism of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organized an event titled ‘ULABians Forever’ for the sake of alumni formation for fall semester’ 19 on January 9, 2020 at the ULAB permanent campus, Mohammadpur, Dhaka.

Every semester the MSJ department organizes alumni formation program to strengthen the bonding between fresh graduates and the department and selects representatives from the new graduates who carry out further communication.

The event started at 5 pm where faculty members were asked to say a few words for the fresh graduates. Associate Professor Dr. Kazi Mahmudur Rahman asked the new graduates to keep the Ulabian forever spirit within. Dr. Rahman also said “keep going, never stop and don’t be static”.

Assistant professor A F M Moniruzzaman Shipu urged the students who are planning to go abroad for job or higher studies to come back to Bangladesh after a certain time as the country needs creative graduates.

Lastly Assistant Professor Dr. Sarkar Barbaq Quarmal ended the segment with his encouraging words.

Some of the graduate students also expressed their thoughts and emotions on this auspicious day.

In the next segment Associate Professor Dr. Kazi Mahmudur Rahman led the oath taking ceremony and shortly after that three representatives were chosen on behalf of MSJ alumni batch fall’19.

Later, associate professor Dr. Kazi Mahmudur Rahman and assistant professor Dr. Sarkar Barbaq Quarmal handed over the internship certificates on the stage to the graduates one by one.

Finally the event ended with a group picture session, happy faces and echoes of friendly chat between students and faculties at 6.30 pm.
