Center for Language Studies (CLS), University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organized a poster presentation competition titled “British Council Book Reading Program: Poster Presentation Competition” on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at Campus A, ULAB. ShaheenAra, Assistant Professor, CLS coordinated the competition. Students from different ELL099sections presented their posters, and five groups with the best presentations were chosen to participate in the contest. The selected groups based their posters on the books The Curse of The Mummy by Joyce Hannam, Love or Money by Rowena Akinyemi, Love by Design by Kieran Mc Govern, From the Heart by Alan C Melean, and Macbeth by William Shakespeare. The audience and the eminent judges of the event Prof Dr. HM Jahirul Haque, Vice Chancellor, ULAB, Prof Shamsad Mortuza, Pro-vice Chancellor, ULAB, and Professor Imran Rahman, Special Advisor (BOT) and Dean, School of Business praised the originality of the poster design. The judges described the presentations as brilliant, thoughtful, and creative. The team from ELL099, section 3, comprising Adiyat Hossian (192011092), Ajima Akter Sujana (192011081), NajifaTasnim (192011005), and Sharaoshi Rahman (191011073) was declared winner of the competition. The winning team based their poster on the story written by the team members with the same theme of the original story of the book Love by Design.Both the team and the course teacher of section 3, ShaheenAra received awards from the judges.
