ULAB EEE IAP (Industry Advisory Panel) Meeting – Spring 2021

Industry-academia collaboration is of paramount importance in engineering for the successful integration of theoretical and practical knowledge. Keeping that in mind, the Department of EEE, ULAB, organized the “Industry Advisory Panel Meeting – Spring 2021” on 10 June 2021 during 8.30 – 10.30 pm. The meeting held on the online “Zoom” platform. The event was moderated by Prof. Dr. M. Mofazzal Hossain, Head of EEE, ULAB. Some prominent industry personalities like  Engr. Md. Ali Zulquarnain, former Chairman, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC); Engr. Md. Shahjahan, Deputy Managing Director (Corporate Affairs), BTCL; Engr. Md. Badrul Alam, Superintendent Engineer, Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC); Engr. Md. Ariful Hoque, Managing Director, Reverie Power and Automation Engineering Ltd.; Engr. Md. Shakhawat Hossain, Chief Operating Officer; Engr. Mohammad Jamal Uddin,  DGM, Teletalk Bangladesh Ltd. and Md. Ismail Hossain, Manager, Neural Semiconductor attended the meeting. The panel members gave valuable feedback regarding the significance of internships and how the quality of engineering education can be improved by collaborating with the industry. Invited industry advisory panel members showed a positive approach regarding the arrangement of internships for students of ULAB in their organizations. They appreciated the enthusiasm, promptness and quick-learning capability of graduates while working in the industry. They gave importance on guest lectures from industry experts during the semester, especially for the final year students. All the faculty members and admin from the department of EEE were present in the meeting and participated in the discussion. The meeting was ended with a vote of thanks from the Head of EEE.
