Poster Presentation and Seminar on Heritage Preservation
The Center for Archaeological Studies (CAS), ULAB, organized a poster presentation and seminar on heritage preservation on April 21, 2025. The event, held at the Circle of ULAB D Building, featured two student-led exhibitions: "Past for the Present: Unravelling the Spiritual Tales of Nagori by students of Experiencing the Past", and "A Photo-Based Narrative: Sustainable Archaeological Site Management" by students of Introduction to Archaeology.
Following the poster presentation, CAS hosted a seminar titled "Safeguarding the Past" at Room PD 101. Two insightful presentations were delivered: "Reflections on Historic Lalbagh Fort, Dhaka" by ULAB students of Archaeology, and "Safeguarding the Past: The Role of the Department of Archaeology and the Antiquities Act, 1968" in Preserving Bangladesh's Heritage by Afroza Khan Mita, Regional Director (Dhaka and Mymensingh Division), Department of Archaeology, Government of Bangladesh. The event highlighted the importance of heritage conservation and encouraged student engagement in archaeological studies.
Additionally, GED students of the Department of Archaeology actively participated in the programme and engaged in the question and answer session, reflecting their growing interest and involvement in heritage preservation.
