ULAB students visiting the field of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University at Agargaon, Dhaka
The Department of General Education, ULAB, organised a study tour for its Sustainable Agriculture course students. The agricultural field trip was intended to explore students’ perceptions of sustainable farming practices.

The purpose of the tour was to observe and experience sustainable agriculture with organic farming and soil protection. The field trip took place on 09 August 2025 at the Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University. The ULAB Department of General Education undergraduate students visited the research plots in the ‘Horticulture farm’ and ‘Agronomy farm’ during this trip. Professor Dr. Md. Asaduzzaman Khan, Department of Soil Science, mentioned that students’ engagement in the field is an effective way to develop their expertise. This trip gave insights into how academic agricultural knowledge is implemented in real-life situations. The tour was an inspiring experience which connected students’ classroom learning with hands-on applications. It positively impacted students’ perceptions of sustainable agricultural practices and attitudes towards the method. The trip also focused on the importance of adopting modern technology in organic farming and environmental sustainability. GED faculty (part-time) Dr. Ferdousi Ara Khatun guided the students on the study tour. The program complies with SDG2, SDG4 4 and SDG12.
