Unity and Professional Growth Mark the ULAB MSJ Alumni Formation Fall’2025

The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) Department successfully hosted the "Alumni Formation Fall 2025" event this morning at the ULAB Permanent Campus. Jointly organized by PR4U and the ULAB MSJ Department, the event marked a significant milestone in strengthening the connections between alumni, faculty, and current students.
The program brought together graduates, faculty members, and current students, creating a meaningful platform for mentorship, knowledge sharing, and professional networking. A key highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates to graduating students, recognizing their academic journeys and achievements
Professor Din M. Sumon Rahman, Dean of the School of Social Science, addressed the gathering and expressed his delight regarding the Alumni Formation initiative. Reflecting on his own student days, Professor Rahman noted the difficulties of making career decisions without a dedicated support network. He candidly shared that his first career choice was a mistake due to a lack of mentorship, emphasizing that today’s graduates are fortunate to have faculty members ready to guide them. He urged alumni to stay connected, support their juniors, and actively engage with the department through this platform.
Alumna Ammar Binta Babul Trowya shared how her education helped her rediscover herself, expressing deep gratitude to her faculty members for their unwavering support. Reflecting on her time as a mentor, she noted that her work at ULAB TV and involvement in departmental activities provided crucial support during her internship at BRAC. She encouraged the graduating students to dream big and fully utilize the skills acquired during their university life.
Another alumna, Faria Sultana, recounted her personal journey at ULAB. She revealed that although her family had initially planned for her to study abroad, joining ULAB proved to be a turning point in her life. She credited the consistent guidance of faculty members and the practical learning approach for equipping her with the skills that ensured her success during internships.
Md. Daud Rashid, General Secretary of the MSJ Alumni Association, highlighted that this initiative began in 2020. Addressing the common question of why alumni should remain connected, Mr. Rashid shared his personal experience, emphasizing how alumni engagement has aided his professional life through continued contact with faculty. He called upon all MSJ graduates especially those previously involved in departmental programs to remain active within the Alumni Formation.
The ULAB MSJ Alumni Formation 2025 concluded with a strong message of unity and lifelong connection. The initiative aims to bridge generations of MSJ students, foster professional growth, and cultivate a supportive community where experiences and opportunities can be shared for years to come.
