ULAB hosts innovation workshop with US Embassy

The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, in collaboration with the US Embassy Dhaka, hosted an interactive workshop titled "Tech for Tomorrow: US–Bangladesh Innovation Workshop" at its campus on Monday (22 June).

Babita Kuruvilla, Foreign Service Officer at the US Embassy Dhaka, delivered the keynote session.

She engaged students in discussions on innovation, emerging technologies, bilateral technology cooperation and future opportunities within the growing technology ecosystem connecting Bangladesh and the United States.

The session offered insights into how technology-driven partnerships can contribute to sustainable development and global progress.

The event was organised under the US Embassy's "Freedom 250" initiative, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.

Professor Shamsad Mortuza, PhD, Vice Chancellor of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, said such engagements give students meaningful opportunities to interact with international experts, broaden their understanding of technological advancements and prepare for an increasingly interconnected world.

The workshop was attended by deans, department heads, faculty members, students, and senior officials from both the university and the embassy.

The university said the initiative reflects its continued commitment to providing global exposure for students while strengthening their technological literacy, critical thinking and collaborative skills.
