CSARO Hosts CV & Interview Preparation Session for Media and Creative Students
The Career Services & Alumni Relations Office (CSARO) hosted a specialized CV and interview preparation session for media, journalism, and creative writing students on Thursday, 16 July 2026, at PD 204. Ms. Nasima Ahmed, Head of HR at AML Media Group, served as the resource person, sharing industry-specific insights on building standout creative portfolios and noting that standard business CVs often fail to capture the strengths of creative professionals. Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) students received guidance on showcasing audio-visual projects, journalism portfolios, and digital media skills to attract top media organizations, while Department of English and Humanities (DEH) students learned to present their critical thinking, copywriting, and content creation abilities as valuable assets for corporate communication roles. A key highlight was Ms. Ahmed's candid feedback on common CV mistakes that lead to immediate rejection, offering rare, direct insight from a major media group's hiring process. The interactive session allowed students to ask questions and receive personalized advice on portfolios and interview readiness. Participants left with actionable strategies to strengthen their applications for competitive creative-industry roles. The event reflected CSARO's ongoing commitment to bridging academic training with industry expectations, with organizers noting strong student engagement throughout.
