A Seminar titled "From Digital Screens to Streets: Affective Mobilization in South Asia's Gen Z Uprisings" held at ULAB

Professor Fahmidul Haq from Bard College New York gave a talk titled "From Digital Screens to Streets: Affective Mobilization in South Asia's Gen Z Uprisings. The seminar was held on 12 August 2026 at ULAB and was jointly organized by the Center for South Asian Studies and the Department of Media Studies and Journalism. In his talk, Dr. Haq discussed the affective mobilization of mass protests across South Asia, namely Bangladesh, and Nepal through the use of social media. He deciphered how these movements shifted from the digital screens to the streets.
