Dr. Faheem was educated at the University of Dhaka (DU) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He has wide experience in teaching English and Communication Skills to diverse groups of people: non-English speaking foreigners, Special Branch police officers, bureaucrats, bankers, multinational executives, news presenters of electronic media, journalists, public relations officers, home-makers, and sportspersons. Before joining ULAB, Dr. Faheem worked as the Coordinator of MA in TESOL Program at Brac University. He was also in charge of assisting and supervising faculty members with their research activities and publications. Prior to his BracU career, he was the Founding Head of English Department at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). Besides teaching and research, he has participated in many international & national webinars on educational and developmental issues as a main speaker and conducted workshops in prestigious government and multinational organizations.
He is an editorial board member of international journals, like Transcript (a journal of Literature & Cultural Studies, India) and Celebes (a journal of Language Studies, Indonesia). He also works as a regular reviewer of national and international journals. A member of IATEFL and a Life Member of both Bangla Academy and The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh, he is a poet and a freelance contributor to English and Bangla newspapers & magazines, publishing over one hundred columns and post editorials.
