Habib is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Studies and Journalism at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. He is responsible for teaching Strategic Public relations, Strategic Communication, Crisis Communication, Digital Sociology and Advocacy Campaign courses to postgraduate and undergraduate students.
Habib obtained his PhD in Public Relations (PR) from Griffith University, Australia. The research was undertaken to explore the use of PR, communicative and media strategies in organizing campaigns on a social development issue of Bangladesh. His current research focus is much more interdisciplinary, which includes strategic public relations, science communication, health communication, occupational health, digital psychology, climate change issues, sustainability, migration, entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility. By taking part in different academic conversations and forums, he also serves as a volunteer to promote issues related to science, technology, occupational health, digital highway, entrepreneurship and sustainability among the students of South Asia.
Habib also possesses industry experience through his involvement as a PR and communication expert in the private sector, with responsibilities for managing the image of organization, networking with stakeholders and maintaining overall internal and external communications. Habib has keen interest in teaching and understanding the local and international media environment, organizational communication, entrepreneurship development and strategic communication within the interplay of emerging technological, economic, social and political trends.
