Habib is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Studies and Journalism at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. He teaches Communication Campaigns, Issues and Crisis Communication, Conflict Management, Strategic Public Relations (PR), PR Research Methods, and Strategic Communication courses to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Habib obtained his PhD in Public Relations (PR) from Griffith University, Australia. The research was undertaken to explore the use of PR, communicative, and media tools in organising campaigns on a health promotion and social development issue. He also possesses industry experience through his involvement as a PR and communication expert in the private sector, encompassing various communicative and media dimensions of an organization.
Habib has a keen interest in undertaking collaborative research on health communication, digital media, public relations and social change issues, underscoring the world needs to be better prepared to respond to the risks and crises coming from different locations. He has published papers in international journals with scholars from different countries on health and community issues, while contributing voluntary support to ICA, IAMCR and other international platforms as a reviewer for different intellectual productions. In his regular teaching and research activities, Habib is engaged in the conversation on how media and communication environment is shaped through the interplay of emerging technological, environmental and societal changes.
