Shamsuddin Ahamad is an Assistant Professor at USB. He is experienced working on different research projects jointly and independently with necessary data analysis skills. Few research papers have been published in various international reputed journals as the outcome of his research work. He is also experienced in teaching as an Associate Lecturer at Taylor's University Malaysia. He received his PhD in Business with a major in Development Economics from the same university. His PhD thesis is titled: "The Effects of Financial and Intellectual Capital on the Efficiency of Microfinance Institutions: The Moderating Role of Internal and External Governance". With a double stage analysis approach, he employed Data Envelopment Analysis and the Generalized Method of Moments estimator in his study, where he used the panel data of 661 MFIs from 86 countries. ISI (SSCI), ABS, ABDC, and Scopus indexed journals currently accepted his research work to publish. Besides these, he is actively involved in a Malaysia based independent research organization where several graduate students from different universities are working with him on different research projects, such as poverty reduction, human capital development, women empowerment etc.
