The orientation program for the newly admitted students of Department of English and Humanities was held on the 29th of October at ULAB campus A auditorium premises.

The orientation program featured a general overview of the department including introduction to the faculty, undergrad curriculum and club activities. The Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities, Prof. Kaiser Haq, PhD, welcomed the students with his eloquent remarks. He also introduced the faculty members of the department. Head of the department, General Education Program, Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim, PhD, introduced his program in relation to the liberal arts approach of the University. Ms. Nadia Rahman, Assistant Professor and the Coordinator of the undergraduate program introduced the program requirements and course assignment procedures to the students with an informative presentation.

Other than the faculty members sharing their valuable welcome remarks for the newly admitted students, senior students of the department presented the freshers with an evening filled with enthralling performances. The evening was packed with songs, dances and recitation performances. The program ended on a high note with a compelling staging of Anton Chekov’s one act play, The Proposal.
