ULAB Awarded APQN Best Model Internal Quality Assurance for 2022
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) is the recipient of this year’s APQN Best Model Internal Quality Assurance Award. The awarding ceremony took place on 25 November 2022 at the Lifelong Learning Institute in Singapore. Every year since 2013, the Asia Pacific Quality Network (APQN) presents the APQN Quality Awards to encourage its members who have been doing outstanding work individually, institutionally, nationally and internationally. The Award is intended to identify and distinguish extraordinary QA contributions and good practices that have potential of replications in the Asia-Pacific area.
The Award categories are as follows: (1) Best Internal Quality Assurance Award; (2) Quality Champions Award; (3) Award for International Cooperation in QA; (4) Award for Strengthening the CQA Profession; (5) Award for Staff Capacity Building; (6) Best Consultant Award; (7) Best Volunteer Award; (8) Best Benefactor Award; and (9) Best Hosting Award.
The Best Model Internal Quality Assurance Award recognizes the outstanding work of a member who has committed to quality assurance mechanisms and quality culture building. The member is highlighted in order to disseminate information about its internal quality assurance practices and experiences to a wider audience. IQAC Director Prof. Jude William Genilo stated: “It is an honour to receive the APQN Best Internal Quality Assurance Award for 2022. We acknowledge the significance of this recognition given to organizations with extraordinary quality assurance contributions and good practices that have potential of replications in the Asia-Pacific region. ULAB will continue to strengthen its quality assurance endeavors as it expresses it deepest gratitude to APQN for its continuous support and encouragement.”
Past recipients of the award were Macao Polytechnic Institute (China), Horizon College of Business and Technology (Sri Lanka) and the Internal Quality Unit, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (Sri Lanka). Founded in 2003, the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) is a non-governmental and nonprofit network who has been striving for “Enhancing the Quality of Higher Education in the Asia-Pacific Region” and "Dissolving Boundaries for a Quality Region."
