He lived many lives in one as a soldier, builder and a defiant voice in media and politics. he was a man of great passion, integrity and unparalleled courage.

Kazi Shahid Ahmed, passed away on Monday evening at 7:15 pm. He lived many lives in one as a soldier, builder and a defiant voice in media and politics. He was a founding officer of the Bangladesh Military Academy, and a major actor behind many progressive political movements of the 1990s. He changed Bangladesh print media culture with Ajker Kagoj. Founded the country’s only organic tea estate. And a liberal arts university. Above all, he was a man of great passion, integrity and unparalleled courage. He was a loving father and a patron or mentor to countless others. Ever an optimist, he always believed in Bangladesh and its future. He was a major patron of sports and culture. And one of the wittiest and most fun-loving persons. We will miss him terribly. But above all, his is a tale of inspiration, a life to be celebrated.
