Mr. Raihan Kibria has been serving as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). He obtained his masters from University of Baltimore, USA, and his undergraduate degree from National Institute of Technology, Warangal, India. He was awarded a full scholarship by the government of India to study his undergraduate due to his outstanding results in HSC and SSC in both of which he stood fifth in the Combined Merit List.
In addition to his scholarly endeavors, Mr. Kibria has garnered wide experience in the information technology industry, where he worked for more than 15 years. His authored systems are in use in large corporations both at home and abroad.
Bringing real-life experience of the field to the classrooms enlivens his lectures in the academia in which he has more than ten years of experience teaching a variety of courses – from core courses such as Computer Graphics to emerging courses such as Machine Learning, Data Mining, Evolutionary Software Project Management, Distributed Databases, and a host of courses related to the software industry.
His research interest lies with Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning and technology related to making computers and algorithms more accessible to the masses. This includes Explainable AI, Human in the Loop ML, and the likes.
He supervised varied undergraduate and post-graduate theses in domains involving Block-chains, Image Processing, Data Mining, Software Development, Networking, NLP, and such.
Mr. Raihan has also contributed to the open-source community some of this work including one with Apache DBCP project. He welcomes anybody to collaborate on research, especially someone who is not related to the computers.
