Re-Start of Undergraduate Classes
Dear Undergraduate Students,
We are pleased to announce the restarting of classes from Sunday, 18 August, following an instruction from the Education Ministry which is currently headed by Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus.
The students of our country have led a historic political change in recent weeks. You are part of this movement. We will not forget the many innocent lives that were lost, and will ask for a fair investigation and justice for the victims. Following the fall of the government, you have prevented looting in neighbourhoods, helped to restore law and order, managed traffic in cities and towns across the country, and cleaned up public places. You have shown amazing civic awareness, upholding the values of ULAB. We and the whole nation thank you for a job well done. Now, your teachers are ready to welcome you back to the campus.
Your classes will start online on August 18. Your teachers will help you get back to the suspended course topics gradually. Here’s the plan:
- Classes will start online and remain online for the week. This is for the benefit of students who are out of town.
- No class attendance, tests, quizzes, and assignments in the first week
- In the first class, your teachers will encourage you to share your experiences and reconnect with your classmates.
- In the second class, your teachers will review the material covered before the university closed.
- The remaining course syllabus will start from August 25.
- A revised Academic Calendar for the current term and Fall term will be posted soon.
Those who are staying out of Dhaka are requested to return to Dhaka at the earliest opportunity.
Your departmental Heads may provide further guidance.
We are eagerly waiting for your return to your classes.
